On the first day of 2 days gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda, our English speaking driver-guide will pick you up from wherever you will be in the morning to start on your gorilla safari. The guide will brief you about the whole safari and what you are likely to do and thereafter you will go for a Kigali city tour. During the Kigali city tour, you will visit the famous Rwanda genocide memorial where you will learn more about the Rwanda genocide memorial.

You will visit some local markets in Kigali city such as Kimironko where you can buy crafts and support local people, take a visit to the king’s palace and other amazing places. After the Kigali city tour, you will go drive to the nearest hotel for some lunch and thereafter begin on your 2-3 hours journey to volcanoes national park. On reaching the park, you will check in your booked accommodation for evening relaxation, prepare for the big day tomorrow, get dinner and have an overnight stay.

Day 2: Trek mountain gorillas and drive back to Kigali

After early morning breakfast at your hotel, on the second day of your 2 days gorilla trekking safari Rwanda your driver-guide will transfer you to Kinigi park offices where you will meet other trekkers and armed ranger guides. At the park offices, rangers will teach you about rules and regulations of the trekking activity in volcanoes, group you with other trekkers and all groups will be given armed ranger guides to lead them into the jungle and locate the mighty apes.

You will walk through different park trails while searching for mountain gorillas and get opportunities of seeing different bird species, park animals like duikers, bush pigs, giant forest hogs, duikers, elephants, several primates, and much more. Trekking can take 2-7 hours depending on the movement of these apes but once you have located them, you will be given 1 hour to be around them watching them do daily activities, learning about their habits, and taking photos.

After having a good time with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back out of the forest and find your safari drive ready to take you for lunch. After lunch, you will drive to the Iby’iwacu cultural village where you will meet different local people, see their day-to-day activities, taste their local food, and later in the day, you will be entertained through traditional dances and drama. You will later drive back to Kigali and they drive will drop you at either your hotel or Kigali international airport.
