Depending on your location, our English-speaking guide will meet you and brief you about the whole safari and then you will start on your 2-3 hours journey to volcanoes national park. The journey to the park is full of beautiful views of rolling hills, plantations, rivers, towns, and smiling people. On arrival at the park, you go to your booked accommodation have dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Encounter mountain gorillas and cultural visit
On the second day of 3 days Rwanda gorilla trekking and Dian Fossey hike you will wake up to a morning breakfast and thereafter meet your safari driver who will take you to the park headquarters at Kinigi to meet the rangers that will take you through the briefing. The park wardens will teach you the different rules and regulations of the gorilla trekking activity, group you not exceeding 8, and give you one of the ten gorilla families in the park to trek.
Once all this is done, you will be transferred by your driver guide to the starting point where you will get a walking stick and an armed ranger guide to lead you through the different trails of the park while searching for mountain gorillas. As you look for these endangered primates, you will see different monkey species, elephants, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, duikers, etc., and different bird species among others.
If you set your eyes on mountain gorillas, the 1 hour rule according to Uganda Wildlife Authority will start counting and in this period, you will be able to learn new things about their behaviors, watch them do daily activities like hunting, nesting, feeding, and you will be allowed to take photos only if your camera has no flash. Later you will trek out of the forest, collect your certificate and meet your driver to take you back to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon after having lunch, you will be taken to the Iby’Iwacu cultural village where you will visit people of a non-profit umbrella organization aiming at improving the lives of former poachers and other community people around. A visit to this community gives you an opportunity to meet different people, listen to their stories, get to know about their day to day life, and if you are lucky and there is a ceremony you can be part of it. Later get back to the lodge, have dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Hike to Dian Fosse grave and return to Kigali
After having morning breakfast, you will meet your driver guide who will take you to the briefing point to meet other tourists that are going to visit the grave. At the meeting point, you will meet rangers who will be briefing you about the hike to the grave, and later on, you will be given an armed ranger guide to lead you to the grave of the famous primatologist.
Hiking to Dian Fossey’s grave takes 1.5 hours through the thick bamboo vegetation with clear views of the different park animals like the giant forest hogs, baboons, bush pigs, elephants, buffaloes, duikers, and different bird species. on reaching the place, you will see where she was killed from and her grave will be around near her favorite gorilla called Digit. Later you will return to the starting point, meet your driver, go check out of the lodge and start on your journey to Kigali to end your 3 Days Rwanda gorilla trek and Dian Fossey Hike with an en route lunch.
