At the end of the safari back in Kigali city, you will have a city tour if time allows and you will be able to visit a number of places in one of the cleanest cities in Africa.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Virunga national park
On the first day of 4 days Congo double gorilla trekking safari from Kigali, you will be welcomed by our English speaking driver guide at your hotel or Kigali international airport who will brief you about the journey and the whole safari. You will start on your journey to Virunga national park which is in the eastern part of DR Congo. The journey is a bit long but with stunning views of surrounding attractions on the way. Upon arrival at Goma Grande Barrier birder, you will present your documents and you will be handed over to Virunga national park authorities who will a security convoy to take you to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: First mountain gorilla trekking
On the second day of 4 days Congo double gorilla trekking safari from Kigali, you will wake up and have breakfast, pack lunch, and meet your driver who will take you to Bukima park offices. Here you will be briefed about the rules and regulations of the gorilla trekking activity and then armed ranger guides will be assigned to different groups to lead them into the jungle.
Depending on the location of these gorillas and the speed of trekkers, the trekking activity in Virunga national park takes 2 hours to 7 hours, and within these hours you will be able to meet different park mammals, primates, birds, and different plant species. Once you meet the mountain gorillas, the armed ranger guides will give you 1 hour to be around them as you learn about their habits, take photos, and watch them do daily activities such as breastfeeding, hunting, nesting, and much more. You will return to the lodge and relax the whole evening as you prepare for the second gorilla trekking.

Day 3: Second gorilla trekking
Just like the previous day, on the third day of 4 days Congo double gorilla trekking safari from Kigali, you will wake up to a morning breakfast, pack lunch, and meet the driver to take you to the Bukima park offices where briefing is done. During the briefing, you will learn about the rules and regulations of the gorilla trekking activity and then the armed ranger guides will lead you into the jungle but this time to trek another gorilla family.
During the search, you will meet different park mammals, primates, birds, and different vegetation covers. Once you meet the mountain gorilla family you have been looking for, you will be given 1 hour to be around it taking photos, learning about their habits, and watching them do daily activities like nesting, coupling, hunting, playing, and breast feeding among others. You will trek back to the park offices, meet your driver and get back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 4: Departure to Kigali
After relaxed morning breakfast at the lodge on the last day of the 4 days Congo double gorilla trekking safari from Kigali. You will check out the lodge and meet your driver to transfer you to the border where you will meet your safari driver guide. On arrival in Kigali city, if time allows you will have a Kigali city tour where you will visit places such as Kigali genocide memorial, Kimironko market, and art and craft shops. You will go to any of the good restaurants for lunch and later you will be dropped at your hotel or Kigali international airport for your flight back home.
