Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi
On the first day of 2 days Bwindi gorilla trekking safari from Kigali, our English-speaking driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali or Kigali international airport. The first thing he will do is to brief you about your safari and then you will start on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park that is in the southwestern part of Uganda.
The journey from Kigali to Uganda through Katuna border in Kabale or Cyanika border in Kisoro is rewarding as it gives you stunning views of some of the thousand hills in the country, plantations homesteads, and smiling people. On arrival at Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, you will check in your booked accommodation, have an evening relaxing as you prepare for mountain gorilla trekking the next day.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking and departure to Kigali
The second day is the main reason for this safari. Early in the morning, you will have breakfast from your lodge and then your driver-guide will pick you up and transfer you to the park headquarters where you will meet other trekkers. At Kinigi park headquarters, park wardens will teach you about the rules and regulations of the mountain gorilla trekking activity and then you will be grouped not exceeding 8 people and armed ranger guides will lead you into the jungle.
In the jungle, the armed ranger guides lead you through different trekking trails as they protect you from dangerous wild animals. You will have opportunities to encounter some of the park animals such as buffaloes, bush pigs, forest elephants, duikers, giant forest hogs, several monkey species, birds, and different vegetation.
Depending on the location of mountain gorillas and the speed of trekkers, the activity can take 2-7 hours in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. When the mountain gorillas are located, you will have to follow rules and regulations of gorilla trekking activity as you get close to them. A distance of 7 meters is maintained and then 1 hour is given to be around these apes and this will enable you to learn about their habits, take photos and watch them do daily activities such as hunting, nesting, breastfeeding, coupling, silverbacks patrolling among others.
After spending time with the mountain gorillas, you will follow the armed ranger guides and trek out of the forest, meet your ranger guide and get back to the lodge. You will check out of the lodge and if time allows you can have a community tour to the Batwa pygmies before going back to Kigali city or Kigali international airport through the Katuna border in Kabale and Cyanika border in Kisoro.
